He was started his career as a footballer he was Joined in the Border Security Force (BSF), Where he was played for its Team in Domestic Competitions. Then he moved to journalism, Then he started Verbacular daily NaharolgiThousand. He also worked as the editor of the newspaper till 2001.
Recently he was appointed as a Chief Minister of Manipur for the second time. The result will be declared after ten days and BJP announced, Mr. Singh is the new Chief Minister of Manipur, among two more contenders-Biswajit Singh and Yumnam Khemchand.
