Mohammad Aijaz Asad is an IAS officer from the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Mohammad Aijaz Asad is currently serving as the District Magistrate/Deputy Commissioner of Rajouri. Mohammad Aijaz Asad is a 2012 batch Indian Administrative Service officer from the J&K cadre. Mohammad Aijaz is the first IAS officer from the border district of Poonch after 1947. Asad is a noted Urdu Poet also. Mohammad Aijaz Asad writes political satire and romance. Most recently in 2018, Mohammad Aijaz published his first book, ‘Barf Zaar’ which earned him Bhasha Parishad Yuva Puruskar in 2019. Mohammad Aijaz Asad also received the Best Electoral Practices Award in 2017 for recording the highest enrollment of electors in the state and also for new additions in the district of Ramban.

Mohammad Aijaz Asad belongs to Dharana village in the district of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir. Since childhood, Aijaz has witnessed a lot of gunfights and cross-LoC shelling in the border village, where Aijaz was born. Aijaz’s father is an engineer by profession in the government department while Aijaz’s mother is a homemaker. Aijaz Asad had to face a lot of hardships to complete his school education, as Aijaz had to walk 8 km daily to reach his school. Mohammad Aijaz Asad’s education till 10th was done at Government Higher Secondary School, Mendhar, and Aijaz Asad’s higher secondary education was done at SM Jain Higher Secondary School, Jammu.

Later Mohammad Aijaz Asad enrolled at IIT Delhi, and after completing his studies he worked in a Delhi-based engineering consultancy, Engineers India Limited. Asad Aijaz got qualified to write the Indian Civil Service Examination in 2011. Mohammad Aijaz Asad was allocated to the Indian Revenue Service department and given training till 2012. Mohammad Aijaz Khan was given the home cadre of Jammu and Kashmir. SDM of Khansahib Sub-Division in Budgam district, Deputy/Additional Secretary to CM Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Deputy Commissioner of Ramban, Deputy Commissioner of Shopian, etc were the administrative positions held by Aijaz Asad earlier.
