Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa was born on July 8, 1959, in Owa-Alero, in the present-day Ica Northeast Local Government Area of Delta State. Ifeanyi Okowa is a popularly well-known Nigerian politician who is the governor of Delta State. He was inaugurated as Governor on 29 May 2015 after winning the state elections in April 2015. Prior to his rule, he was elected Senator for the Delta North Senatorial District in Delta State, Nigeria in the April 2011 national elections.

Okowa ran on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party. He is an Ica from Owa-Alero in Delta State, Nigeria. Okowa is also the first person from Anioma to hold the position of governor of Delta State. Ifeanyi was re-elected as the governor of Delta State on the 29th of May 2019.

He attended Iroro Primary School Owa Alero (1965–1969), and later enrolled at the prestigious Edo College in Benin City, from where he obtained the West Africa School Certificate (1974) and the Higher School Certificate (1976).
