Asim Arun was born on 3 October 1970 in Badaun, Uttar Pradesh. Asim’s father’s name is Shriram Arun, who was also an IPS officer and had served twice as the DGP of Uttar Pradesh. He died in the year 2018 while fighting cancer. His mother’s name is Shashi Arun is a well-known writer.

Asim Arun completed his schooling at St. Francis School, Lucknow, after that he went to Delhi to complete his graduation. In Delhi, he did his B.Sc. from Stephens College.

Asim Arun was an ADC rank officer of the batch 1994. He has done many feats in his career, he is known as a strong police officer. He has also served as the security officer closest to Dr. Manmohan Singh during his tenure as Prime Minister. They also have a big hand in eliminating the hidden terrorism in Lucknow.

He has served as District Police Chief in Agra, Balrampur, Hathras, Aligarh, Siddharth Nagar, and Gorakhpur. Asim Arun has also taken training of National Security Guard commandos and he has been the SP of Garhwal.
