In 1985, he began his broadcasting career as a freelance reporter for ORF, an Austrian public broadcasting company. Armin interviews Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2018. Armin was named “European Journalist of the Year 2019” at the Prix Europa Media Competition, In 2019.

He was ORF’s chief correspondent, political editor, and managing editor of various TV news programs from 1995 to 2002. He has been presenting ORF’s news show ZIB 2 since 2002. He then interviewed Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2018.
